Real Language Experience: Learning Through Connection

Last week we welcomed a wonderful group of Italian students from Babylon Lingue (Rovigo - Italy) to Newcastle for an unforgettable exchange. For a few days, our classrooms became places of discovery, not only of grammar and vocabulary, but of people, stories, and laughter.
The Italian students came to improve their English, while our own learners (British and international) practised their Italian. What happened was far more than a lesson: it was a genuine language experience.
Around the tables, conversations flowed easily, sometimes hesitantly, always warmly. Mistakes turned into smiles, and every sentence built a bridge between two cultures.
From lively discussions in our classroom to relaxed chats under the summer sun, the atmosphere was full of curiosity and joy. We saw confidence grow, friendships form and the simple pleasure of communication remind us why we love teaching languages.
This exchange was a success in every sense, educational, human, and emotional. We can’t wait to repeat it and keep building these connections that make Real Language Experience what it truly is: a place where languages live, breathe, and bring people together.
